Overcoming Barriers to Commercializing R&D
A workshop for institutional and private company researchers eager to commercialize research.
From 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., March 18, 2010
Victoria Room, Delta Fredericton
Experienced presenters from private and public organizations will be on hand to demonstrate how they:
-
Work with multiple partners with differing organizational cultures;
-
Launch multi-organizational R&D programs that includes industry partners;
-
Work novel products through evolving regulatory frameworks; and
-
Secure private follow-through investment on university-generated discovery.
The session will be facilitated by Dr. Nancy Mathis [bio], a seasoned innovator and facilitator. An interactive atmosphere will prevail, including opportunities to interact with representatives from various departments and agencies including: Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC); Business New Brunswick (BNB); the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA); National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP); the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT); and the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF).
A registration fee of $30 includes lunch and refreshments. The first 30 participants will receive a complimentary registration so register today! Registration will be limited to 50 participants.

- lancer un programme de R-D multiorganisationnel incluant des partenaires de l'industrie;
- concevoir des produits novateurs grâce à la mise en place de cadres réglementaires évolutifs;
- obtenir un investissement continu du privé en matière de R-D universitaire.
Nancy Mathis, Ph.D. [bio], pionnière en recherche et animatrice chevronnée animera l'atelier. Le tout se déroulera de façon interactive et il y aura des occasions d'interagir avec les représentants de divers ministères et agences, notamment le Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie (CRSNG), Entreprises Nouveau-Brunswick (EN-B), l'Agence de promotion économique du Canada atlantique (APECA), le Programme d'aide à la recherche industrielle du CNRC (PARI-CNRC), le ministère des Affaires étrangères et du Commerce international (MAECI) et la Fondation de l'innovation du Nouveau-Brunswick (FINB).
